Carlos M. Calderón

Carlos Calderón was born and raised in Puerto Rico and speaks fluent Spanish. A graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law, he started his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County (1990 to 1995), where he honed his skills as a trial attorney in cases involving arson, official misconduct and economic crimes, and he developed a strong commitment to serving the public. Since 1995, he has concentrated on civil litigation, and is presently the firm’s main trial attorney, handling all aspects of litigation from case intake to motion practice and trial in lawsuits involving personal injury, property damage, malpractice, and legal fee disputes. Mr. Calderón also handles numerous matters on an of-counsel basis for several attorneys who rely on his experience and reputation in Bronx County to maximize the results for their cases and clients.

Mr. Calderón is a former Chairperson of the Board of Directors and former President (2009-2010) of the Bronx County Bar Association, and is presently a Vice-President and Delegate of the New York State Bar Association, as well as a District Representative for the Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law section of the New York State Bar Association.

Mr. Calderón has been appointed by the Courts on numerous occasions as Guardian of the Person and/or Property of Incapacitated Persons, Special Guardian, Court Evaluator, Court-appointed counsel to Alleged Incapacitated Persons, Guardian ad Litem, and Co-Trustee of several Supplemental Needs Trusts, and Court-appointed Referee in foreclosure matters.
