The firm was founded in 1996 by Harold Weisman, a living legend in the Bronx County Courthouse for over 50 years, his son, Richard Weisman, who had spent 15 years working for national law firms in corporate and real estate practice, and Carlos Calderón, a former Bronx County prosecutor and private defendants’ attorney.

Perhaps best known for handling pre-trial matters and trying cases on behalf of dozens of law firms in Bronx County, Weisman & Calderon LLP has seen its own practice expand to include its own major personal injury matters, including automobile accidents-car and truck accidents, construction accidents, premise accidents, security, improper supervision-school accidents, lead poisoning, medical malpractice and other professional liability cases.

Richard Weisman now concentrates his practice in the area of Guardianship and Elder Law, and handles Trust and Estate matters as well. He is a Court Examiner under Mental Hygiene Law Article 81 in the First Judicial Department, and has served on numerous occasions as Guardian of the Person and/or Property of Incapacitated Persons, Court Evaluator, Court-appointed counsel to Alleged Incapacitated Persons, Guardian ad Litem, and Co-Trustee and Trustee of several Supplemental Needs Trusts, and Court-appointed Referee, and Guardian ad Litem in matters before both the Supreme and Surrogate's Courts. He currently represents the Trust Department of a national financial institution.

The firm’s attorneys are all active members of key bar associations and other professional organizations. Carlos Calderón is the immediate past President of the Bronx County Bar Association and now serves as Chairman of the Bronx County Bar Association Board of Directors. Harold Weisman is a member of the Committee on Character and Fitness for the Appellate Division, First Department. Richard Weisman is the Co-Chairperson of the Bronx County Bar Association Elder Law Committee and a Director-elect of the Bronx County Bar Association.
